My Ins and Outs for 2025

As someone with a brain that’s in a constant state of chaos, the idea of setting New Year’s resolutions has always felt a little...overwhelming. Instead of committing to vague goals, I’m simplifying the process with a list of ins and outs for 2025.

This isn’t about striving for perfection. It’s about deciding what aligns with who I want to be and what I need to leave behind. Here’s where I’m landing for the new year:

What’s Out for 2025

  1. Not Having Discipline

Let’s be real: motivation is fleeting, but discipline is what gets things done. I’m done letting my “meh, I’ll figure it out later” attitude win. This year, it’s about showing up for myself, even when I’d rather scroll TikTok. Discipline is the ultimate form of self-care.

  2. Floating Through Life Without Plans or Goals

Living in the moment is great, but floating aimlessly? Not so much. This year, I’m swapping spontaneity for structure—not to box myself in, but to feel grounded and intentional.

  3. Yearning for Material Things

I’m over the constant “if I just had this one thing, I’d be happy” cycle. The truth? That happiness rarely lasts. This year, I’m focusing on finding joy in what I have and seeking fulfillment beyond material stuff.

  4. Comparing Myself to Others

It’s easy to look at someone else’s life and feel like I’m falling behind. But this year, I’m setting boundaries with the comparison game. My journey is my own, and it’s time I fully embrace it.

What’s In for 2025

  1. Journaling

Writing things down clears my mind like nothing else. Whether it’s tracking my progress, sorting through messy emotions, or just documenting the good moments, journaling is my way of staying grounded.

  2. Meditation

I’ve learned that you don’t need to sit cross-legged in silence for hours to benefit from meditation. Even a few intentional moments to breathe and reset make a difference. The trick to meditation is to just let your thoughts flow. This year, I’m leaning into mindfulness as a way to slow down.

  3. Creating More Than I Consume

It’s easy to get caught up in endless scrolling, but I always feel better when I’m creating—whether it’s writing, painting, or just brainstorming ideas. This year, I’m focusing on making more and consuming less.

  4. Moving My Body

Movement isn’t just about looking a certain way; it’s about feeling good—stronger, healthier, more alive. Whether it’s hitting the gym, going for a walk, or dancing in my kitchen, moving my body is a non-negotiable in 2025.

  5. Continuous Learning

As I work toward my Master’s degree in Marketing Analytics, I’m reminded how much I love learning. It’s not just about the degree—it’s about growing my skills and expanding my perspective. This year, I’m diving into whatever challenges and excites me.

This list isn’t a rulebook. It’s a reminder to focus on what matters to me and let go of what doesn’t. 2025 is about living with intention, even if that means stumbling through it some days.

What are your ins and outs for the new year? Share them with me—I’d love to know what you’re letting go of and what you’re making room for.
